FAQ

If you can no longer attend an event we greatly appreciate it if you cancel your ticket through Eventbrite ASAP so we know not to expect you. This helps us maintain gender balance at events and be respectful to the community organizations that we partner with. Many of our charity partners buy supplies based on our expected headcount and we don’t want them to waste money. By cancelling your ticket in a timely manner we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist and fulfill our obligations to our community partners.
No-Shows
If you do not cancel your ticket and simply do not show up to an event, we reserve the right to move you to the end of the waitlist for any future events that you sign up for.

We offer events for all age ranges, with the majority of our subscribers being in their 30s and 40s.
We know some people prefer wider age range events or narrower age range events, but we can't please everyone. If you're older and you prefer to date much younger then our events are probably not a good fit for you.

We're working on it! We will add a variety of events as we grow. We have very limited resources so we are focused on the quality of events over the quantity. It takes time and money to market to various audiences so we have enough people interested to balance out an event.

We charge money for tickets, rather than having events be free because:
We donate a large portion of the ticket fees to the charities that we volunteer with. Some of the charities actually require a donation for us to be able to volunteer. They appreciate our volunteers, but it also takes resources for them to host us.
In order to have gender balanced events we have to incentivize people to show up and not flake at the last minute. We tried the free model and had too many no shows to deliver a balanced and high quality event.
Lastly, there are operating costs to putting on these events (website, email hosting, marketing, etc.). We are not profiteering off charities and volunteers. We do this for fun, not profit, and just want to cover our costs. In fact, many of our events operate at a loss but we do it because we love it.
